Tax Deed Sales

If you are interested in bidding at a Tax Deed Auction, it is recommended that you come into the office and physically view file. You can also obtain information about the property with the parcel id # at the Property Appraiser’s website. Sale information is also published in the Washington County News.

If you wish to bid on a Tax Deed:

  • You must appear in person or have someone to represent you
  • Bids are made with cash, cashier’s check, or money orders.
  • A $200 cash deposit or 5% of the bid (whichever is greater of the two)is due at the time of sale and 24 hours to bring in balance.
  • Deposit is non-refundable.
  • If you are the owener of the property once the certificate is held by the Clerk's office there are no payment plans. The full opening bid is required in order to redeem the property before it goes to sale.

The successful bidder must pay the additional fees in addition to the bid:

  • Documentary Stamps & Recording Fees

All tax deed sales are held at 10:00am at the front of Washington County Government Offices 1331 South Boulevard, Chipley, Fl, unless posted to be sold in the courtroom.

Foreclosure Sales

 

If you are interested in bidding at a Foreclsoure Auction, it is recommended that you come into the office and physically view file. You can also obtain information about the property with the parcel id # at the Property Appraiser’s website. You may also search our Public Court Records to the right with the case number. Sale information is also published in the Washington County News.

If you wish to bid on a Foreclsoure:

  • You must appear in person or have someone to represent you
  • You will be required to pay 5% of your bid immediately after the sale. The remaining balance will be due by 4:00 the next afternoon.
  • Cashier checks or money orders accepted.

The successful bidder must pay the addition fees in addition to the bid:

  • Documentary Stamps
  • Registry of Court fees. 1st $500 is $15 with remaining Balance at 1.5%

All foreclsoure sales are held at 11:00am at the front of Washington County Government Offices 1331 South Boulevard, Chipley, Fl, unless posted to be sold in the courtroom.
